Creativity on the Coast (and inland a bit)

Hello all,

It's Springtime! And as I salute the sun and budding greenery, I dust off these keys to tell you about two great creative events happening locally. One very soon (tomorrow, Sunday 11th March) and one at the end of March, Saturday 24th. Both are theatre-based, one is for young people and the other is for older people, though no less playful!

Shakespearience bring you an interactive afternoon of Shakespearean theatre, creative writing and art experiences for young people:

I met the ladies from Shakespearience a couple of months ago and their enthusiasm, research and imaginative preparation for this event was certainly inspiring. Their aim for this project is to make Shakespeare's writing   more accessible for young people.

Event numero two: from writing to writing and devising:

Professional Development: Writing for Devising with Dan Rebellato – Scriptwriters’ Doo Dah
at Salisbury Arts Centre with Angela Street.

Angela Street, Writer, Tutor and Dramaturg has coordinated this workshop which will be led by playwright Dan Rebellato (www.danrebellato.co.uk)

Writers and Actors are invited to attend this exciting workshop which will include:

  • How to set up improvisations and how to use them.
  • Writing for physical sequence.
  • Play structures so writers/actors can start developing a common language in which to work.

When: Saturday 24th March 2012
Where: The White Room, Salisbury Arts Centre
Time: 4 hours 1pm – 5pm
Cost: £25 (£15 concs)

Free follow up session in The White Room on Saturday 31st March 1pm – 4pm for four actors and writers, who formed a partnership on the 24th and want to develop work together.
